How to Improve Your Web Content and Increase Your Online Visibility in 20 Steps
If you want to become a force to be reckoned with, in your niche, you must stand out from the crowd. You can’t achieve big things if you keep doing what others are doing. You need to do what they’re not doing to stay ahead of the competition.
To become a successful web content writer or online businessperson, you must upgrade your skills from time to time.
You must stay up-to-date with new trends in your industry so you won’t be left behind. In this content, I’ll be revealing some strategies you can apply to make your content stand out and also improve your online visibility.
1. Blog Regularly
Do you want your readers to forget about you? If no, then update your blog regularly.
There’s nothing more frustrating than going on a beautiful blog and noticing that contents have not been added for the last 3 years.
There’s nothing more deadly than this.
It does not matter whether you work a 9 to 5 day job; create time for your website.
If you have a tight schedule, or you’re not too good at writing, outsource your blog writing to a website content writer.
2. Make your Call to Action STAND OUT
Don’t assume the reader already know what you want him to do, make him know what you want him to do by perfecting your call to action.
Make your call to action stand out but don’t appear too ”salesy”. Do it politely.
Here ‘s an example of what I mean: ” If you’d like to grow your blog traffic by 350% and also build quality backlinks to your blog pages, check out my web content and guest blogging services”.
3. Write about your Readers
We all know you passed out from College with a Master’s degree in Creative writing.
We know you’re a very good web content writer but, does that matter?
Your readers don’t want to know about your accomplishments or academical qualifications; all they want to know is, WIIFT (what’s in it for them).
Don’t talk about YOU, talk about them. Figure out what they read and write on it.
4. Guest Posting
As you all know, I’m an avid guest blogger and I’m proud of my accomplishments.
Guest blogging is a quick way to build quality back-links to your blog pages, grow your business, build credibility, drive traffic and win new prospects.
What is Guest Blogging?
I hate to complicate things–I believe everything online should be simplified.
Guest blogging is simply an act of writing content for a blog with a link back to your website.
It’s that simple!
Benefits of Guest blogging
Grow your company
Win new businesses
Boost your credibility
Become a better web content writer
Create a powerful online resume
Reach new hubs
Grow your knowledge
I think I have to stop here; but like I said earlier, if you’d like to learn more about guest blogging, check out this post
Pro tip: the best way to get quick results from guest blogging is to find quality blogs (from page rank 3 to 6) in your industry and send them your best content.
5. Use Visuals
People are moved by images. Always include a solid visual with any content you write.
Pro tip: make your content stand out by using professional images.
6. Let Them Know That You Know your ”Onions”
Let them know that you are who you say you are.
Pro tip: Don’t just give them the same industry tips; add ‘’spices’’. Make yours unique!
7. Break Your Content into Sub-headings
I’ve always told you to space your content. Are you a blockhead? (Sorry, just kidding).
People don’t read, they scan contents. Break your content into ”manageable chunks” to make your content appealing to the eyes.
8. Write Epic shit!
These are valued posts, but make sure they’re done professionally.
The only way to win more prospective clients and drive a massive flow of traffic to your blog overnight is by writing epic contents.
I’m not talking about contents of 500 words. I mean contents of over 1,000 words (backed with facts and data).
Pro tip: It won’t cost you anything to write informative posts. You could hire a web content writer for this cause.
9. Establish a Presence on Social Networks.
I’m an avid Facebook user, and I know how to use it to drive traffic to my blog. You should also master a social network until you’re very good at it.
Don’t jump on all of them; master one at a time.
Concentrate on one, become a master in it, and build relationships with it.
10. Don’t worry About the Length of your Content
I’ve always told you times consecutively, not to worry about the length of your content.
In fact, the length of your content does not matter. If your argument or opinion is complete after 250 words, fine. If it takes 1,500, that’s fine too but don’t exceed the 3,000 word limit.
It’s risky! You may bore readers that way.
11. Proofread or ask someone to Read before Hitting ”PUBLISH”
Even the best web content writers make mistakes.
Spend time to proofread your content. Ask a friend to read before you publish.
Pro tip: Even the best website content writers and authors pass their work to editors.
Take away tip: Don’t be too anxious to publish, take your time.
12. Write for People not the Search Engines
Yes, don’t write for Google write for people. Google does not want you to impress her. In fact, she wants you to care for people.
Pro tip: Write for your readers and you’d reap the benefits in the future.
13. Write with an Active Voice
I love reading contents written in an active voice and I believe you also do. The fastest way to engage readers and convert new readers into visitors is to write in an active voice.
14. Don’t Bore Readers
Don’t bore readers; use white spaces, make your sentences short, and concise.
15. Don’t Intimidate Readers
People don’t like reading long paragraphs, it intimidates them. Keep your paragraphs short. I’ve said my own.
16. Study your Competitors– you could get one or two Ideas from them
The fact is, you’d always have competitors and the best way to out-beat them is not to ignore them, but study their strategies.
Pro tip: Get close to them, study their strategies and map out your strategy.
17. Tell Fairy Tale Stories
People love stories. The best way to engage a prospective customer and convert readers into prospective clients is by using a story to teach them a little about your business.
You need to keep learning to be ahead of your competitors and become a better web content writer. In fact, it’s believed that READERS ARE LEADERS.
Read everything from books to blog posts, magazines, and newspaper articles.
Make reading a habit and you’d never run out of content ideas.
19. Stand out–Do Creative Things
Your website readers are looking for quality contents they won’t find on your competitor’s websites. So, go ahead and ”wow” them. Do creative things.
Implement new things on your website regularly and measure your results.
Pro tip: To catch a Dog you have to behave like a Dog.
20. Outsource to a Seasoned Web Content Writer
Web Content writing is an entirely different form of writing.
It involves a bit of creativity. Hire a web content writer to help grow your business.
