3 Smart Ways to Boost your Website SEO (for Website Owners)
We all know that the secret to being ranked in the search engines isn’t the crummy keyword stuffed links but your compelling web contents.
Ranking in the search engines has been a major challenge for some online business owners but I believe getting ranked shouldn’t be the ultimate goal of a smart website owner but creating compelling web contents that ranks.
I’m not here to PREACH about any link building strategy–I’m just here to discuss with you what you already know but you’ve failed to apply in your business.
I hate to complicate things and I don’t like repeating words, so I’ll try to be as clear and concise as possible.
In this article, I’ll be discussing 3 tactical and effective link building strategies that’re sure effective to rank your site within few months.
Take advantage of Social Media sites
Social media news sites are fast becoming one of the best ways to build quality and ‘‘juicy’’ links but sadly, many online business owners don’t utilize it.
It takes real hardwork to get there but don’t worry, it’s possible if you’re persistent and hardworking.
If you’ve done a great work with your headline, it should automatically and magnetically attract attention. However, you need to understand the principles of each social network.
What works for Reddit may not work for Digg and what works for Digg may not work for Stumbleupon so, the key is to study the kind of headline that works for each social media site.
Guest writing has become one of the most popular ways to build juicy links, drive traffic, and dominate the search engines. You contribute quality content to a blog and you’re in turn given a link or two.
Though, guest blogging is a good and safe way to generate links but it’s also the most deadliest.
Guest writing can also be effective to your link building campaign when you freely contribute quality and informative content to another blog and you capitalize on your ”author bio”.
Many people believe guest blogging is in the quantity but it’s not. Guest blogging is about quality.
Getting published on a top PR 6 blog can easily help you generate hundreds of links and put you on a good spot in the search engines than guest posting on 20 B-list blogs.
I’m not saying guest blogging for links isn’t good or effective but most online business owners are going about it the wrong way. Another thing you also need to focus on when guest writing for blogs is your BYLINE.
This is your selling point and it determines whether the reader would click through the links in your ”AUTHOR BIO” or not.
Here’s a good example of a good author bio that clearly dictates the keyword I want to rank for.
Here’s a simple step plan to have a successful guest blogging campaign:
Check the blog of the you’re contributing to
This is one of the very first steps to take if you want to land guest posts on top A-list blogs.
Check the host blog’s archives, recent comments, most read and popular posts, and the writing style to get a glimpse on the kind of guest post they accept.
When I was still new to guest blogging, I desired to contribute to top blogs like Pickthebrain, Dumblittleman, Lifehack, and Problogger but I just wished–I never took a step to accomplish my dream not until I came across an article on confidence.
I took a leap of faith and sent four quality guest posts to the above blogs. Though, only two was approved but I was still not satisfied because I knew how many hours I spent to write each post.
So I decided to look at each blog to see a flair of their writing style and *poof* I found my missing link (permit me to share the conclusion of this short experience next time).
If you’ve been wondering just like me, why your guest posts are being rejected by top a-list blogs then you have to take your time and research the host blog.
Pro tip: Don’t be in a rush. Be diligent and take your time to research the kind of contents they accept.
Work on your headline
Your headline is your lead generation tool.
It’s what determines if you’d convert new visitors into regular readers or not. In fact, it’s one of the most important things you need to work on when writing your guest post.
I’m an avid headline and web content writer. I know how to create exceptional headline that not only gladden the heart of a stubborn blogger to say, ‘‘Yes” to my guest post but also, increases viewership.
If you’re thinking I’m just saying this to boast, then check out this post I contributed to Socialmediatoday.
The post received over 3,000 views within 36 hours and over 300 visitors to my blog within 24 hours.
I wouldn’t have been able to achieve this feat if my headline wasn’t heart-killing and persuasive.
Pro tip: To increase the chances of getting your guest post accepted, work on your headline!
Write from your heart
Yes. Pour your heart out. Write like you’re talking to your Girlfriend ( that’s if you have one lol).
Don’t stop to edit any incomplete sentence–just pour your spirit in your content.
The result: Writing like this will not only make your guest post go live on a top blog but will also attract traffic to your blog.
Edit for incomplete sentences, technical ”jargons”, grammar mistakes, spelling mistakes, et al!
Pro tip: I ‘d advise you hire someone to proofread your guest post or edit ruthlessly after 24 hours.
Here are 5 guest blogging tools you need to find blogs that accept guest posts in your niche

It removes the hassles of pitching guest bloggers and waiting for weeks to get your guest post published. If you’re looking to guest blogging on a massive scale, then ensure you register as a member of the community.
This is the biggest guest blogging community online. My very own guest blogging coach, mentor, mother, and teacher, Ann smarty, founded it.

Few years ago, getting 20 quality contents distributed to a directory like Ezinearticles could get you on a good spot in the search engines for highly competitive terms (at least on Yahoo and MSN).
However, things are not like before. Things have changed and guest blogging has taken over.
However, a site like Ezinearticles can still build links to your blog pages if you go about it effectively.
You know, many people still believe article marketing doesn’t work unlike before but I strongly detest or disagree with this opinion because I get as much as 15 to 16 visitors everyday to my health blog through Streetarticles alone! The key is to be strategic and wise when going about it.
Pro tip: article marketing is slightly the same as guest blogging–just that, guest blogging is a more effective link-building tool.
You’d get results if you create original contents and distribute across top article directories like Ezine articles.
Take Away: Don’t embark on an article marketing campaign without a goal.
Have a clear goal in mind. Keep doing it–rinse and repeat until you start seeing results.
Here’re the top 3 article directories you can freely distribute your contents to:
