2012 in review– My goals for 2013

I launched this blog fourth months ago with the aim of educating online entrepreneurs on how to build a blog that attract readers and to showcase my freelance skills to home business owners who need quality content marketers to meet their content writing needs.
Most of you, my readers don’t know my age. I doubt even if you know anything about me.
Let tell you a little about me:
I am Daniel Adetunji; a young freelance writer and online entrepreneur. I’m 19 and I live in Lagos, Nigeria.
I was motivated to start an online franchise 8 months ago by two famous and professional copywriters in my country (Akin Alabi and Ronald Nzimora). These ‘guys’ taught me how to start an online business. In fact, they taught me everything I needed to know about starting an online business; but despite their counsel, I failed.
In fact, I have made many mistakes that if I tell you; you might say ”Oh! This guy, you’re so dumb”.
I believe failure is one of the things you must face as an online entrepreneur.
To cut the long story short, a friend referred me to top freelance writing platforms like Freelancer, Guru. Et al. I got excited bidding with other freelance writers but after about a month bidding and doing all sort of cold callings and marketing, I became fed up.
I asked myself questions like:
Is this really, what I’m conditioned to become in life? Is this God’s plan for my life? Can I become that millionaire that I’ve always desired to be by writing articles for peanuts?
I was disturbed and emotionally deranged for about a week until I came across, Bamidele’s write for money’s blog. I read his blog for a week to two, and his accomplishments inspired me.
His story motivated me to take up the plunge and start up a freelance writing business. During the course of my preparation, I met some other top freelance writers like Carol Tice, Michael Chibuzor, and Chadrack Irobogo. I formed a relationship with these top writers and within a few months, I kick-started this beautiful blog.
I’m grateful to Ian Belanger for designing this blog and Michael Chibuzor for referring Ian to me. I don’t know what else to say than ”Thank you”. You ‘guys’ really mean a lot to me. You’ve made me what I am today and you taught me what it takes to be a freelance writer.
Operation on this blog, started fully in the month of August (end of August 2012) and I’m very proud of my accomplishments so far.
Since last four months till date, I’ve landed quality guest posts on top blogs like: Lifehack.org, Pickthebrain, Bloggingtips, Shoemoney ( my guest post is about to be published there), makemoneyinlife… et al. In fact, I have over 90 guest posts to my belt. I know there’s still room for improvement but I proud that I was about to churn out 80 to 90 guest posts in the space of four months.
I know some people that I started this race with but today, they are nowhere.
I thank God for giving me the motivation and zeal to continue despite the challenges I faced this year.
Oh! I’m so happy for 2013 because it’s a year of favor. I believe good things awaits me ( including you guys) because I’ve been conditioned for success. My expectations are high and I’m looking at hitting five figures in freelance writing income before the end of the year.
My goals for 2013
Like I said earlier, my expectations are high for 2013 but I think ‘’you’’, my reader should know what I’m planning to accomplish this year. BTW: Did I tell you that living the internet lifestyle is the best decision I ever made? Well, yes it is.
Goal setting is very important to the growth of any business. I mean, if you really want to make it big in life and in business, you must learn to set goals. The truth is I don’t know of any successful entrepreneurs that didn’t set goals.
So, if you’ve not been setting goals, start now. It is very important. It’s not optional—but mandatory.
- One of my goal this year is to land at least, five quality guest posts on top blogs like Problogger, Copyblogger and Lifehack; and I’m looking at writing at least, 2 guest posts every day.
I know how hard it’s going to be writing 2 guest posts per day but I’m ready to give it my best shot!
2. I’ll be sharing my income and traffic report from the month of March.
I know it sounds crazy because I don’t have any clients but I believe it is not where I am that matters but where I’m going. Therefore, by the end of March, I’ll be sharing my income reports. Even if I earn 0.00$ share it with you.
I don’t care. One thing I know is that, success is precept upon precept. It’s a stage. I know that no matter how short or long it takes, my income will grow.
3. I will be going into the business of Affiliate marketing before the end of October.
I love affiliate marketing because, I love selling. In fact selling is one of my key attributes. Therefore, I’ll be going into affiliate marketing in the month October and I’ll be sharing my success with you, on the niche blog I’ll be launching soon.
4. I’ll also be starting another blog (Affiliate marketing based) in the month of December to showcase my success and the things I’ll be learning as an affiliate marketer.
5. I’m looking to start earning at least, 2 to 4 figures before the month of April. I know now you’re thinking, ”Is this guy crazy? Does he know what he’s saying? He’s not even got hired by a client and now he’s saying he wants to start earning 4 figures before the month of April”. Well, you can say anything you want.
The law of the universe states ” your written goal will come into manifestation if you’re committed to it and share it with others’’. I know this year holds good things for all of us and I believe that by God’s grace we will meet and surpass our goals.
These are my short-term goals for now—ensure you check this page back as I’ll be adding some other stuffs to it ( as soon as I come up with other goals).
Are you ready to fly in 2013?
What are your goals?
